What is going on over there. New service Manager only lasted 10 months. Here they are going to take down marina and put in high price condo's. Use to know most of people working there but now only two. They sure go through help.

Who would want a condo in there? Train running through every hour, constant boat traffic, and constant music from across the channel? Plus your surrounded by trailer parks and a drive in theater. Not to mention no beach.

What am I missing?

So, what happens now if I wake up tomorrow morning and suddenly have a bad case of the 'need for speed.' Isn't The Channel the only source for that 'need for speed' Baja cure. Isn't the one and only Winnipesaukee Baja franchise a totally money-maker type of a dealership?

Hey, I just remembered that Channel has another location on Rt 3 in Tilton.

You could still get a Fountain at Silver Sands, or a Formula at Lakeport Landing.

Don't think there are going anywhere soon. They have spent plenty to be at the NE Boat show that starts Saturday. They are listed as being there and here is the floor plan - they are just right of top center. http://www.naexpo.com/boatshow/pdf/2007%20Boat%20Show%20Floor%20Plan.pdf

I am planning a trip there myself on Sat afternoon.

Good find Just Sold..... I guess the only question that could still be argueed would be are they going to maintain two locations.....But where as the Winnisquam location is not on the water, I would assume they would want to keep the Winni. location....Although Money can be a strong modivator I suppose.

Build it and they will come. ;-)

I've seen some condos and housing developments that I wouldn't buy for any price, yet there is always someone there to pay the money.

All right "eye spy" --- you started what I think is a great RUMOR --

Are you sure that Eric Tierno is gone ?? I think it was the "Parts Manager" who has departed -- if I'm not mistaken he was the brother of Bill Laikas (salesman) -- in any event, no big deal.

Just Sold -- you can solve this Saturday, by asking the question outright to Jim Piscetta or beter yet Doug or Vin if they are there. They'll probably get a hoot out of what's being posted here!!

Don't forget Checkmate at Paugus Bay Marina. Gillan is done with Donzi from what I can tell and Sheps is basically done with Sunsation. Ward's also was selling Campion's out of Parker.

Great Boat Show. :coolsm: :coolsm: :coolsm: The selection is great and of course the big kahuna boats are impressive. $12 for admission and parking goes from $9 up. Of course if you pay attention there are free spots all the way up to the lower side entrance area. Not to mention the prices of the boats but great deals are being offered.

Talked with Jim P of Channel Marine tonight. He knows of nothing changing and with the inventory he has no way is anything in the plans. But he does not hold the purse strings either.

Hey Phantom

Eric Tierno is gone, you can fine out for sure call Channel an ask for him. Bills brother was parts manager and still works for Channel but as Machanic. Eric was the one that got Brad Davison fired. He then took over for him and lasted about 11 months. Both Doug and Vins wifes are not well and they want out. They won't tell anybody at Channel what they are going to due. Would you

Sorry to hear the news about the wive's -- Shame about Eric too -- I liked him a lot!!

To the Sale as Condo's -- I would think it would be a more lucrative deal to sell the Marina (as a Marina) than to sell the real estate for future condo's. God know's Doug & Vin seem to have done well by their purchase. Just my two cents as a loyal Channel Marine customer/client.

The issue here becomes one of easy money. For a developer who wants to make money with the least amount of headaches, it is more profitable to build condo and ax the marina. For a business man the marina would make sense for more money down the road.....

At any rate what I read into this picture, is that possibly the Marina could be put up for sale.... and then it is up to the new owner what will happen....

Don't forget there are more than one kind of condo - they could be selling off the marina piecemeal as condo docking slots like many other marinas on the lake have done in the past... That way, zoning stays the same, but they still get big bucks for the real estate...
