Kudos to the town of Meredith for actually putting "Merry Christmas" on the town letterboard at rt 104 instead of some generic holiday message.
I think people are finally getting tired those who want to do away with everything traditional in this country.

I completely agree. In my little town down here in NC, the signs on the posts also say Merry Christmas.

Thank goodness common sense has regained a foot-hold. I am SO glad retailers, towns, etc. have realized that saying "Merry Christmas" at Christmas is of course fine!

I have noticed that more stores have signs hanging in them and more sales people are wishing one a Merry Christmas more especially the smaller Mom & Pop stores. I personally love hearing those words. :)

While the local towns are finally turning around, just note the following from the Wilson County School System outside of Nashville, TN:

The ACLU claims that the plaintiffs have been harmed, injured and “suffered irreparable damage” through the Christmas program because of its “Christian themes and songs.” The ACLU will ask for these actions be declared “unconstitutional and illegal.”

It gets even worse. The plaintiffs and the ACLU allege that several kindergarten students role-played a nativity scene of the birth of Jesus—and had the audacity to sing “Away in the Manger” and “Joy to the World.” According to the ACLU, these songs are exclusively Christian in nature because they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and are, therefore, inappropriate.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks, Sam, for starting this thread........ I agree with you on your comment -- I for one am extremely tired of all of the so-called "PC" way of doing things........ Christmas is the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child, and those of us who grew up with saying "Merry Christmas" should not be stifled by the ACLU or anyone else who thinks they are standing up for the "rights" of "all". And I'd better end this now, before Don has to do some disciplinary action on my post, lol!

And, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!! dagnabbit! (And you don't even have to press "1 for English" on this post!) :D
