Below 60 as of today. :( My signal that summer lake season is finally over.
The good news? It's on it's way to the 30's so the winter lake season can begin! :D

Ya, and with the weather going on to the west in Buffalo it could be a good/bad winter depending on you view.
Lots of snow and lake ice for the adventurous and cabin time for the less adventurous.
Me, I like snow even though I don't ski, sled or partake in those types of outdoor activities.
A Little ice fishing is a good thing though.:)

Now in the 40's.
It does always amaze me to review the history of the water temps (http://www.winnipesaukee.com/tempcal/index.cgi) on the site. Despite what seems to be very different weather patterns from year to year, the Spring rise and Fall drop in water temperatures always seems to be the same, plus or minus 5-7 days.

Hi All,
I was doing some mooring work today in Paugus for a friend-after which I took my scooter offshore down to 48 feet, at which point my digital temp gauge also read 48; No thermocline to speak of. So it's pretty much 48 degrees wherever in Paugus.

Water temp at Sanibel was 70 yesterday......refreshing after hours in the warm sun....a few puffy clouds ....pelicans diving....dolphins playing.
Hate to rub it in,but we're looking foward to digging out the snowshoes,as well.

How's the viz when it drops below 50? Went a week ago down here (although it was 52) and viz was decent, although some human rototillers had churned up some lime silt on us...reducing it to zero.

And is running about the same as it was in November 2001. That was a crappy winter, very warm. I hope it is not a sign of our winter this year! :(

Say Hi to Mr. el nino, and good bye to Jack Frost. At least heating the house will be reasonable.

I wouldn't worry about Al this year. Once it gets cold, it will be nice and cold this winter. We are just running behind schedule a bit, thats all. My prediction is that winter will lock in right around the holidays, and hold right into March. In other words, the only thing abnormal will be a warm fall.

Hey now, thems fightin' words :D . It needs to get cold fast to start the lake freeze. I do not want to have conditions like last year. That was just awful. Only put 7 miles on the sled when we had those couple of dustings and I didn't get to ride to the Village Kitchen for breakfast like I did in '05 when I put on 120 miles.

I did 660 miles last year....650 of them were in Canada. I rode a total of 10 miles in early December, that was it for riding in NH. Ugh...

Is it ice yet?:rolleye2:The wind howled here all day, reaching over 35 mph a number of times. The air temp. this morning started at 34 degrees, but it has fallen throughout the day and at 4:30 PM it is now down to 28 degrees. We had a short snow squall here this afternoon during the high winds, but nothing stayed on the ground. The wind was so high the snow was blowing sideways, and it all blew away.

I saw ice on a small pond beside I-93 in Manchester this AM. That is a decent sign. Late, but still a decent sign.
From what I have seen and heard, it will be cool into this weekend. Look for a warm up again next week lasting 7-10 days. Once the holidays hit, we should be good to go...keep your fingers crossed.

Glad to hear it! Are the BABES Dancing?Well I know that at least one of them is!

If it helps, this BABE will be dancing long-distance. I don't think being away will affect the results. Since we now have Quilt Lady, IG, Island Sib, Pepper & DBA as the official BABES on SLEDS all that dancing should make for some good sledding this winter.
How's the secret weapon for the bed race coming along? :rolleye2:
