Does anyone know where I can obtain a used sail for a 15 foot Hopbie Cat? I could also use a used canvas platform for the same boat or try to get the one I have repaired by a canvas repair man.
I know it is early to be thinking about sailing but I think the ice will be out today and I couldnt wait.

I had my tramp re-stitched by an awning repair shop, but the stitching (his top grade) wasn't up to the elements and stresses. Wasted money.

Wolfeboroonline.com advertised an entire, complete Hobie for $500 last fall. :eek: (It's worth triple that in parts -- like the trailer it came with).

If that cat is still available (but not currently advertised), try a "wanted" ad in the classifieds (here) or advertise (Hobie wanted -- for parts) in a Lakes Region paper.

I can't think of a single component for a Hobie Cat that doesn't cost $150. :(

Good luck selling it for parts. I have a partial cat now for 3 years after we bought one for parts to replace the bent mast. Someone pilfered it for it's sails originally. Btw, you need parts?!?!? I've got parts, no sails though, or mast!

I can understand the loss of Hobie sails -- they're the first part to go.

The Hobie factory quoted me $400 (shipping not included) for a new daggerboard, so I bought a West System® epoxy kit for $100, and fixed the old one.

If you still have the old bent mast, I can put it to use. The internal-halyard feature will make it a perfect Purple Martin house support, and maybe encourage that Osprey away from our mastheads -- and from dropping sushi bones down on our decks!
