Opening a SLUSH STAND - Where? Need Input!

Hello

This is a bit of an odd question for this board, however I figured I would ask. I am considering opening a slush stand or two somewhere on the lake in the lakes region. I already called Meredith, and as I figured, no vendors on the Town Docks.

Does anyone have any input on where a Slush Stand may go on the lake? I am looking for a high traffic area. Perhaps someone knows the local zoning laws for thing of this nature?

At the Centre Harbor town docks and boat put-in ramp there is a food vending cart that does the double duty of selling soda, chips, & hot dogs as well as collecting the ten dollar ramp fee for the town. It's a well run food cart with reasonable hot dog prices and the plan lets the town collect the ramp fee without paying a collection person. Maybe some other town would be willing to trade vending space for the boat ramp fee collection job. It would probably help a lot if your mom or dad is politically connected like being a town selectman.

The Wolfeboro town docks has a hot dog cart with Italian ice already, so vending is possible. But the white building sells ice cream and maybe even Hart's slush.

The Alton town docks had a hot dog cart a few years back and the last few summers it was replaced with a popcorn stand. So you can vend there assuming permits etc. Across the street Shibleys sell ice cream and Hart's slush. These vendors were in the parking lot not actually on the dock.

The Weirs has a couple ice cream stands and at least one of them has Hart's slush. Winni water taxi had a kiosk on the boardwalk so vending may be possible.

It may be that Hart's beat you to the punch.

Great idea. We buy ice cream from the SS Creamer in Braun Bay all the time. If they can do it, why not give it a shot?

There used to be a Pontoon boat on the lake years back selling ice cream products. I can remember it coming by our association beach in Moultonborough. Don't know what ever happened to him though. Wouldn't think there would be much money in that setup as most your time would be spent boating from spot to spot (spending gas money.)

Hows about in my driveway? OK, maybe not. I wonder what would be cheaper, the cost of the boat and gas, or the cost of the permits required to sell on the town docks? Maybe you could wrangle with a local business (Funspot, the Winni Peir, ect.) to borrow some parking lot or floor space?
