Landline Phone Service Alton Bay Area

What phone service do people in the Alton Bay area use for landline service ? We called Verizon but they said they do not cover Alton, NH. Any help would be much appreciated....

Alton is covered by Union Telephone and Communication located in Farmington.
Phone numbers are as follows: Business 859-3700 or toll free is 1-800-859-3002. Regarding long distance service ask them, but I believe we requested AT&T? :)

Union Telephone has a Class 5 end office as well as Tandem in Alton. ALTNNHXADS0 and ALTNNHXA01T it is really 1 DMS 10 switch serving two purposes.

Thanks for all the information ! Called Union today and got landline service....cell phone coverage is almost non-existent in our cabin and it was getting a little soggy standing at the end of the dock trying to get reception (not so much the rain coming down....but standing on the dock when it's under water :rolleye2: )
