I've been watching the lake level inch up from record lows, but now I read this for Laconia:

Saturday: Periods of rain and wind. Rain becoming heavy at times in the afternoon. High 53F. Winds E at 15 to 25 mph. Significant rainfall amounts possible.

(Record lows are for specific days in late April. We are not near record lows overall. We are about a foot above the typical November level)

Maybe I'll wait till next Friday to pick up the new boat.

Looking at the short and long range weather forecast, I believe we will be at normal lake levels on June 1st. Time will tell, but it looks like our dry spell is over. It looks like the rain dance worked, or maybe the lack of a rain dance by those involved in the snow dance this winter actually worked.

Happy boating!!

I'm thinking that it's the snow dance ... just delayed ! You see the Spirit that normally receives the dance spells had it's job outsourced. So when the dance went out over the airwaves this winter it had to go to India. When it arrived it got somewhat lost in Calcutta and then there was the translation problem when it made it to the desk, spells, receiving. I heard that the BOS called customer service to find out what the deal was ... and well you know what it's like talking to customer "service" these days. Anyway the when the snow was cleared for shipping it went out by normal ground delivery and had to make a side trip to Malaysia and then China to fill up the boat and finally it arrived here in the US. From there it was sent by the USPS, need I say more ? :rolleye1: So now, here it is arriving, but in a liquid state due to global warming during the shipping time. Yup ... that's the "efficiency" of the new world economy at work for you ! :coolsm:

Mee-n-Mac,

I believe you are correct! Brings back the not so good memories of my pre-retirement days. I have never seen so much real money and good people wasted trying to find a "less-costly", off-shore solution.

Keep the jobs local and treat the people well and your results will be better and quicker than off-shore sourcing.

Thanks for the great explanation!

Resident 2B:

I wish it were so easy, but India is full of really smart people that are wiling to work for 20% of what we earn. Things certainly have changed!
