View Full Version : Good Fishing Spots?

How about some good fishing spots that I can access without a boat? I don't have a boat, and as a restaraunt owner in the Lakes Region, even if I did I wouldn't have time to go out on it! Yet last year I did go out on someone else's boat and caught a 3 lb small mouth bass. I'm interested in fishing more this summer but I need some good spots where I won't get into trouble. Anybody have any ideas?
When boatless, we usually do the public docks. Glendale has produced pickeral, rock bass and yellow perch for me, I've never caught a small mouth there. The Weirs docks always have a few anglers, and I've seen quite a few small mouth there. I've also fished from the breakwater at Weirs beach with a little success.
Meredith town docks has some great fishing, as shown in this link:

Personally, I've caught a few small mouth there, the only white perch I ever caught and a ton of yellow perch.
Obviously when the docks are very crowded and busy, fishing is less fun. One day we did catch a Donzi, but had trouble landing it on 10 pound line.

Nadia,
The fishing's pretty good in Smith's Cove if you don't mind the teeth on pickerel. You probably can fish after hours on Fay's gas dock.
