Unfamiliar with that one, but a family member stayed at a Meredity facility, Golden View, and it seems to have gone well.

Not that I am aware of….it used to be a Genesis facility and got bad reviews when it was but it has been taken over a little while ago by who I don’t know yet but recent reviews seem stellar. Going there Friday for a tour….

Thanks Mr V as we crossed off Wolfeboro Bay and are now looking at Goldenview in Meredith. We have a tour of the facility this week.
If anyone else has feedback on Goldenview it would be appreciated!

Tours are great .
Suggest you also do a drop in , say eight or so and see what is really going on . See the staffing level when no one is around. Smell test . Etc

We have had a few close friends at Goldenview for rehab after joint replacement or other surgery and two friends who were there for hospice end of life care. No issues reported. No information on the memory care unit. But my wife is a retired cardiac nurse and on her visits there to see our friends she was impressed and she is very picky. Any facility like Goldenview will have staffing issues and it is unlikely that everyone has a great experience. The suggestion about dropping in is a good one, especially around shift changes, but I'm not sure they will just let you walk around and memory care units are usually locked in some fashion. The more you know the better judgment you will make. When my mother was in a memory care facility in Manchester my wife, who was also on my Mom's Health Care Power of Attorney, would stop by unannounced and review my Mom's chart and the nurses notes. Kept the staff on their toes for sure.

Have experience with 5 rehab/nursing homes for various reasons and family members in MA, but none in NH. some things that you may find useful. We found the day to day staff in “rehab” section may be very different from nursing home section of same facility, so I don’t recommend just going on experience of friends that have been there for rehab. Recently had a friend with 98 year old mom, had short term rehab, loved it, then moved to nursing home same facility, hated it, different staff, routines, etc…
There is a search tool that gives some nursing home ratings, and in my experience the ratings have been a very good indicator of the actual care at the facilities we’ve used:
https://www.medicare.gov/care-compare/?providerType=NursingHome
Good luck with your search, its a challenging journey.

I'm not a beneficiary of this thread...yet anyway. But I just want you to know, WaterBoyzGal, that it's very much appreciated when folks provide thoughtful and caring feedback as you've done here. I do frequently ask this forum for advice on various matters and I've benefitted from member's responses many times over. Thank you.
