Right now, the Winni Belle, an all steel twin side-wheeler boat of 65' built in 1985 is out of the water, way up the top of the big repair ramp built for the Mount Washington in Center Harbor.

It looks that many different restorations and new paint have been made all over the boat from bow to stern, and top to bottom, everywhere.
This says it can hold 150 people and "It is expected to return to service in 2025 for her 40th anniversary."

The Winni Belle was purchased as a used vessel when it was trucked to the lake in 1998. It was launched in Alton and got hung up on the dock next to the ramp. It had to be lifted and shifted to one side to get it into the water.
Last year it underwent a substantial amount of work while it was on land at Fay's Boatyard. When it left there it still needed a lot more work
Many people think it is a paddle wheel boat but the paddle wheels are just for show. It is propelled by two I/O's.
Sorry for the photo quality. I took it in 1998 with some old technology.
I corrected the date that it arrived at the lake. I should have remembered that my daughter was with me and she was born after 1985, the year I first posted. My bad!

If the Winni Belle was "used" in 1985, where was she homeported before that? Previous name? When was she built? Etc?. Can't seem to fing much on a quick Google.

These two articles (Foster's and SeacoastOnline) say the Winni Belle was built in 1985, but trucked to Alton in 1998.

Good articles from the coast. Thank you.
So it now appears the Winni Belle was operating and/or built in Wisconsin in 1985 and came to Winnipesaukee in 1998. Is that right? Back to my original question, what was she doing before coming to NH? Was she doing dinner cruises in Wisconsin? What was her name?

Winni Belle cruise party ...... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y7yu2kB-TM .....from eight years ago in summer, 2017.
Returning this summer 2025 .... the Winni Belle, Lake Winnipesaukee party cruise ...... woofa-loofa-toofa! .... rock on!
And ..... here's another Winni Belle You Tube video .... (coming soon) .... showing the Winni Belle on a party cruise while the partygoers get an up close look at the big money homes down that Wolfeboro/Tuftonboro waterfront.
HAHA. WE usually heard it coming before we saw it.
