I don't know what the issue was but they stopped at the shore about 1/2 mile North of the Southdown docks.
They were inside of the marker where there are a lot of rocks. Two Firefighters were still on the boat and two were on shore. I couldn't tell what the problem was and I didn't see any other people or boats in the area.

Appears to be 3 occupants in a boat taking in water. All are rescued and OK.
Someone took a murky picture of the boat on FB. Looks like a small BR.

talking to someone that witnessed it, I wasn't there so take it for what it is, boat pulling a tube trying to stay close to shore didn't pay attention to the markers and hit some rocks.
I will say, our boat has been out of the water all of July for some work, went out Saturday and saw about 3 different boats/jet skis have no regaurds for markers and went the wrong way around them. Seems like it's happening more and more this year. Especially the one right off Sandy point, every time I go down that way always see at least 1 boat go between the markers.

Funny you say that, last time we went to Alton Bay, we saw that too.

There are two lanes that go between Bear and Mark. It's amazing how many people go zooming right through the middle with no idea there are rocks there. What's scary is when people use that area for tubing or wakeboarding since it looks wide open. Apparently they used all their money on their boat and didn't have any left for a map and have no idea what the spar colors mean. On a positive note, in all the years we've been on Bear we've only seen one rock hit.

Rock, scissors, boat. Rock always wins.

You should spend a day here at Smith Point (lighted marker 48). I've stopped counting the amount of boats that don't stay outside - esp on weekends. There is one rock 6 inches below the current surface and another less than a foot below. I think the only thing that keeps them from being hit is we have a mooring ball and swim raft that keeps the boats just far enough off the rocks (and I mean only by a foot or two).
