Every time I eat at Town Docks, I'm reminded of why I don't often eat at Town Docks.
Gorgeous weather and views, excellent service, but the food is always just...meh.
If only Pop's would open a second location there!

Have not been to either in years, so memory is hazy, but I have preferred the food at Town Docks over Pops in the past. Please expand

Common Man enterprise in my opinion has lowered their quality and services. Use to look at them as a goto restaurant. Always consistent. No longer. Below average for area restaurants

Have not been to either in years, so memory is hazy, but I have preferred the food at Town Docks over Pops in the past. Please expandThe Pork & Bessie Burger was two McDonald's size patties and an ice cream scoop of pulled pork on a Market Basket hamburger roll. That used to be a killer burger. $17 + $2 for sweet potato fries—those were excellent and plentiful.
The two wraps my wife and daughter ordered were both half the size of what literally every restaurant serves. $16 + $2 for fries (instead of chips).
The chicken tender plate looked the best—good serving size and price ($15?) was reasonable.
It wasn't horrible, but it's just never good enough to choose over a handful of other places in the area.
PS We hit up the Tilt'n Diner a few weeks ago not realizing it was now a Common Man restaurant and were disappointed as well, so the comment above might be where we're at as well.

I thought Tilton Diner has always been Alex Ray?

I thought Tilton Diner has always been Alex Ray?Maybe it has, and I should've said "I didn't know it was a C-Man restaurant and wouldn't have gone if I did."

I haven’t found that at all…never had a bad meal or experience at one…YMMV

Having been restaurant owner it always amazes me that people go back to restaurants that they don't like. Having been to Town Docks just today, I can say I had a great meal. It may not have been a grease fill artery clogging meal but it was real good. Just saying as someone who has been on the lake for nearly 40 years.

I agree, location location location, food has always been secondary there. I've been to many Common Man restaurants over the years. I have always said with any place, as soon as they start expanding too big, quality control goes down. The food is ok now in all of them, used to LOVE going before they really expanded. Do I still go, sometimes. My kid likes going to Town Dock because he likes playing in the sand under the table and watching the birds run at people dropping things on the ground. I always find something to eat.
Tilton Diner, 104, Airport diner are all Common Man, have been from number of years now. Used to love Tilton Diner, now I don't go because it's just ok and there are more mom and pop places that I'd rather give my money to. I always tend to go to smaller places over larger groups.
