Don,
Calling you again from across the river. Thanks for the past help, but now I have been trying to mark read posts/threads and have no idea what I'm to be looking for when I have done the option of marking read threads. Everything looks the same to this ole geezer. If this has been asked and answered I'm sorry and lead me to the answer. Enjoy the fantastic weather. Lots of yard work being done. Enjoy the holiday tomorrow.
Ralph :)
PS. I'm gradually getting use to the new set up and enjoying it more each time I learn something new about it.

When you view the Forum list and the thread list within each forum there are symbols at the far left that tell you if there are new unread messages. The description of the symbols is at the bottom of the page.

After you do a "Mark This Forum Read" all those symbols change to "No new posts".

If you want to see the new posts since your last visit don't forget the "New Posts" link in the blue nav bar at the top of the Forum.

To add to this, in other forums I use, when I go in and look at a thread, it will automatically take me to the newest message. In other words, I don't have to go through the messages I already read in that thread. Any idea if this can be done here?

Thanks,
Steve

When you view the listing of threads in a forum there is a "Last Post" column. That column shows the newest post in each thread. Just click on it.

I click New Posts and have a list of all threads with new posts, then next to the name of the thread I click the little check mark to go to the first unread post in that thread.
