Jet Ski PWC ramps

Hello all,
We purchased a couple of 2004 Sea Doo's last year.
I'd love to hear if any of you have custom built your own wood ramps for your machines or used one of the many "kits" and or plans that are available to build your own ramps.

Define ramps? For towing or storage at the dock or on a beach

Ramps that would be on the shore and can be driven onto from the water and then the machines cranked/winched up.

Such things are available through many vendors. A one piece plastic is neat. Inexpensive would be to locate a double wide jet ski trailer and pull it in and out of the water as needed

I've seen these, and may be an option. I'll need to take a closer look once I get on the island

When I bought my first machine years ago from a neighbor, he included a ramp made out of 2 x 4's and covered with carpet. Had a winch. As the water level dropped it became more difficult to pull the machine back into the water. Also, water logged and heavy to remove for the winter. I'd go commercial in aluminum or fiberglass with rollers for the bed. The kids now just leave tghe machine in the water tied between docks and trailer spring/fall. Neighbors do the same.

We have 2 Hewitt Slide-n-Go units. We are pretty shallow so we have the extension kits on them. They work well.

Good way to do it, just be careful you don't suck crud up into the impellor as you get shallow. I'm seriously thinking about going down to one pwc this spring. So I would have no need for that lift if whomever I sell the pwc to doesn't want it.

PSA- be careful if you use the floating PWC ports, such as the Wave Armor SLX-6.

We installed a pair this spring. Our Seadoo's go on great, the Yamaha not at all. The Yamaha hull is larger, does not fit as well and usually ends up going on crooked. It takes a lot more oomph to get it on the port, and the action/wheel rubbing of this actually split the hull on our 2023 Yamaha. The wheels hit right above one of the strakes and quickly wore through- all the way on one side and almost through on the other. We discovered that we were taking on water when riding, thinking it was a leaky sponson or something similar we pulled it out Sunday for repair only to see water pouring out the bottom.

It can be fixed and will be back in a few weeks, but it will never go on the ports again. That's for certain.
