As you may have seen by the photos posted over the weekend (they are in my gallery or under WEATHER), we need two trees removed. One professional came over but couldn't do it, as he said we need someone with a crane to reach the tree still standing. One tree is next the driveway (the one that fell), and the other is fairly close to the road.

Can anybody recommend a tree removal service that services Gilford?

Thank you!
Gravy

Don's Tree Service is right up the road from you in Gilford. We've used him many times. He's sometimes hard to get hold of, but his phone number is 524-7720. He has a large crane.

Hi DRH,

Thanks for the referral. A funny thing happened shortly after I posted this morning. The Gilford DPW knocked on our door and asked for permission to remove the trees as they posed a potential hazard to traffic. Considering this was a complementary service to tax payers, I didn't need to think too hard about it.
Within an hour it was down and half of the other one was down. They did leave us four lengths of pine about 8-10 feet long each. Nothing a chain saw can't handle. ;-)

I can only imagine how much money it saved us....

They asked you if they could remove it? I wish that happened to us years ago when we lost some trees. If you ever do need a tree service again though, I second Don's. Family business and very reliable. Leave a message and they will get back to you.

I think you probably saved a bundle, Gravy! Very accommodating of the Gilford DPW to remove the "problem" for you.
