Today is the first of two days of this biennial event showcasing classic race boats performing in Wolfeboro Bay. Most of these boats have a history of successful racing years back, but now they perform for the public with plenty of spirit, but not officially racing. The Town docks provide opportunities to get up close and personal with these classic racers, and the "dry pits" are readily accessible to see the boats being worked on between performances.
Even if you are not deep into classic race boats, it is interesting to just watch how the event is managed and all the interaction that is required to produce an event safe for the participants and interesting for the audience.
And, yes, it is the Wolfeboro Town docks, and Hot Dog Bob is there!
Today looks pretty safe, but the forecast for tomorrow is "iffy".
If you don't come this weekend, mark your calendars two years from now and plan to attend - you'll enjoy it.
