Saw this a few minutes ago-it's the Varney Point web cam. If someone knows the owner give them a call.

Oh no! I have a feeling with these winds, people are going to find a lot of boats in trouble.

I went by late this afternoon and there were lights on in the house in front of the sunken boat ( it's still there), so they know.

Or the lights are on timers. ?? Seems like MP would take the bow numbers and contact the owner.

Owner could be liable for fines of thousands of $ a day for every day the boat is in the water if it has an internal combustion engine attached. I think there might be a grace period but it isn’t very long.

Sea Tow is on site and with a diver have raised and uprighted the boat. Now near shore and being pumped out.

I am surprised they were able to raise it that quickly. I went by about 4 PM and it looked like they still had a lot of work to do.

I remember Fays used to have the steel boats that went out and salvaged this kind of situation. I forget if it was Hurricane Bob or Gloria that they were out in the middle of the storm on the Broads most of that afternoon pulling moorings away from shore and yanking boats out.
Somewhere I'm sure we have VHS recording of that hurricane and the boat tooling around.

Once they got the boat close in to shore they had it upright and floating pretty quickly. At times it was stern-to the camera and initially the swim platform was well underwater when they first got pumps going but it came up rather fast. It was around 5:30 when they had it all set and towed it away.
