Need some Forum advice...

Going to look at a 2007 Winnebago Chalet (24ft). V8, with 73k Miles.
Is this a lot of mileage for engine ? Transmission ?
RV appears to be in excellent cond.
Things to look review/check for this type of purchase ?

Almost like buying a new boat...ask if you can take it to an RV dealer for an inspection.

If the answer is no, perhaps you may want to walk away from it. Having an inspection, even if it costs you a couple of hundred dollars, could be the best money you spend getting any used RV.

^ This. You might even do both RV and auto shops.

There are many factors to consider, not just chassis and motor. Definitely have it checked out by a reputable dealer or repair shop. I trust Bill's RV on Rte 9 in Chichester. If Campers World won't do it because of age then Bill's is the way to go.

Looking at a used rv starts like any vehicle, how does it run, any oil leaks, has the routine maintenance been done.

That's not a lot of miles however being used some is a good thing. Vehicles do not benefit from sitting parked for a long time.

But, the real killer for an RV is if there is any evidence of a roof leak or any water penetration anywhere in the roof or skin. If there is any sort of roof repair look inside in that area for water damage. The second thing is if the water system works property with no leaks and indication of having frozen with water in the pipes.

73,000 miles is many miles. Engines and transmissions can last long. Check engine and transmission. Look at RV inside and outside. Check for damage. Look at roof for leaks. Check water system. Check for mold. Check appliances. Check tires. Check brakes. Check generator. Check paperwork. Think about price.
