I couldn't find FLL's post about Market Basket in Plymouth.
New mass shootings several times a week now across the country.
Thank goodness that guy was carrying or it would have been much worse. Isn't he the best argument yet for carrying a firearm?
One thing for sure....if I hit that infamous Market Basket I will definitely be ready for anything.

I always like to see people who can protect themselves.
Waiting for someone to save you is never a good plan,,,

Oh please--do we really need to do this?
OK, he's a great guy and I'm glad he was there and armed. That's one out of the past 100 or so...1,000 or so?
Isn't the shooter (or maybe I should say aren't the shooters) a great argument for tightening gun laws to keep guns out of the hands of deranged nut jobs?

Yeah we do, unfortunately we don’t hear much about shootings that have been stopped by people carrying because it doesn’t fit (someone’s) agenda. But it happens more than you know.
Gun laws don’t keep guns out of criminals and “deranged nut jobs” hands. What we have is a mental health issue not a gun issue. More people are killed with knives than the big scary AR platform guns. Are we going to make stricter knife laws? Ban all knives? Yeah I know how stupid that sounds. Do your homework and know the statistics of deaths by guns and you will understand we don’t have a gun problem.

And this relates to Lake Winnipesaukee and the Lakes Region... because?

Sorry but I am not aware of the number of people killed with knives. Clue me in please. As for gun issue vs mental health issue. The two go hand in hand. As for guns, the countries where guns are limited or banned don't have these issues. However, they do have the mental health issues.

I go to that Market Basket weekly and have been specifically looking for people open carrying there. No luck, I'm starting to think Less may be seeing things.
As far as the good guy stopping a bad guy thing. It happens much more than you or I are aware of due to the news outlets not reporting it as it doesn't fit their narrative.
As far as the 1 to 100 thing.... here is another mass shooting that was stopped.

Not the appropriate venue to be discussing this, but it's here until it isn't.

Perfectly stated!
And also let me remind everyone that countless more people are killed with bare fists every year than in mass shootings and/or by so called assault weapons!
The masses are constantly fed filtered and manipulated rubbish news by the media as there is no longer mainstream journalism in America with any integrity and honesty.
50+ years of constantly more restrictive gun control laws has shown us it doesnt work!
And in those 50 years what we have seen is a constant decline in both mental health funding and care.
Can we draw a conclusion the two items above,,,
So why not try for the next 50 years abandon gun control measures (much like we have mental health care) and divert all that effort back into mental health care AND putting and keeping violent offenders in jail. And not country club jail, but good old fashion prison with chain gangs, rock piles and hard labor for said violent offenders. After all its not supposed to be a time out, its punishment!
Its time to also completely separate the violent offenders from the non-violent offenders. There is no reason to put a shop lifter or bad check writer in the same place with a rapist, pedophile, murderer.
Clearly this country could use a few presses on the reset button and these matters need to be right at the top of the list.
Forget about any second amendment right or nonsense about lung blow out bullets. People have a natural right to self defense and if you have to shoot a violent offender attacking you or anyone else, best they do not get up afterwards. So point me to Col Colts equalizer and load it with the best lung blow out ammo Washington kooks can dream up.
So frustrating to see the holier than thou types tell anyone else not to defend themselves, and what they should be entitled to. Freedom only exists because of loaded guns, and just as soon as they are gone, you will see what its like to live in country where you are told what you can say and do and think and go. I hope not to live long enough to see that day.

Those countries do not have the 2nd amendment like we do, like it or not it is here to stay. Ask Chicago how some of the most restrictive gun laws in this country is working out for them.

This relates to everyone everywhere!
But what may be at the core of your question is a concern about raising this matter again, and IF thats the case I might agree, as its truly heartbreaking to see the anti-self defense responses. Especially in NH, the alleged Live free or Die state, but I guess not so much so any more with all the influx of people coming up from Southern NE.

Spot on, and you could not convince me to live in Chicago if you gave me MAC-10s loaded with lung blow out bullets at the town line.

Well said. The media hates reporting the stories of these crimes being stopped by citizens. In this case it was actually on news and it also was nice to see the law enforcement officials stand up and say this guy did a great job and likely saved many other lives. The mental health issue is the problem not the guns.

It isn't in the Lakes Region.
It isn't in the State...
And it isn't even in New England.
The issue is non-matter for us.

And here is another reason people don’t get it. It didn’t happen here so it’s not an issue. Until it does. And if we can’t discuss issues at hand on forums then welcome to communism.
