View Full Version : Snow!
It's snowing like gangbusters here in West Alton today. There's about 6" on the ground now. Here's a shot I took a few minutes ago out a front window.

Yep, haven't seen it snow this hard in a long time....
At 2:00 PM, 12 inches on my deck here in Dover (and really starting to feel & look like Christmas) and still coming down like crazy.....looks like that new sled will be taking a couple of inaugural laps around the back 40 as soon as I clear the driveway!:)
Merry Christmas,

Given the weather, it probably is fairly slow over on the nude beach in Winter Harbor. Has any one been there today?

Check out the Lake Wemtworth camera. It looks like snow on ice on the far shore.

It's 3:40 and we have 15" here in Raymond. Gorgeous.
There's about 6" on the ground now.
Up here on Alton mountain by McDudes stomping grounds we had just a shade over 12" at that time you posted using 5 measurements and just before sunset and before the wind coming up we had 14 3/8" inches using the same 5 location for measurements. Sorry for rounding it out, but that's the way it came out so I tell it the way the measuring stick calls it.:)

Here in central MA, the 1' ruler that the boys put out on the deck disappeared at about 2PM. The Worcester funnel always seems to be the peak snow area. Took many hours to clear the drive.
Near as I can tell, we ended up with about 14-15"
The most amazing part was about 2:30 PM. Watching NE Cable news, they said it was now snowing at about the maximum that can be seen in NE. 3-4" per hour! It looked like it! I couldn't see 200' in my backyard. As amazing, it all came to a dead stop at about 4.

We are traveling from RI to NH on Sunday. Final destination is North Conway area, but of course we will swing by our cottage on our way through to check things.
I was just wondering what the forcast held? Down here, on Friday, we are gonna get a "wintery mix" -uugghh!
I'm hoping it's gonna be all snow up there, so it will be pretty! Any leads on the storm up there?
Also, how much snow is still on the ground now around the lake?
Thanks! :)

NHKathy:
Channel Nine's morning report was for the wintery mix to end below the lakes region and snow up north.

We got another 7" of snow here yesterday. It snowed until about 2 PM and then we got light freezing rain/drizzle for a couple hours, putting a thin crust of ice on top of the new snow. That totals about 16" of snowfall here in the past 7 days.
