Hey All..

Have to give a shout out for Johnson's Seafood and Dairy Bar in New Durham. I had to run over to Alton to renew my boat registration and stopped on my way back to Milton NH.

Sat at the bar in the Tavern which had a nice selection of craft beers on tap. Ali the bartender was great and I enjoyed a Maine Brewing Company Lunch IPA draft... well actually 2! Just wanted a snack so I ordered the steamers... a bit pricey at $20 (what fresh seafood isn't pricey!)... but they were fabulous and a very decent portion. Sweet.. not a bit of sand.. and nary a broken shell.

I look forward to trying their other offerings!

Best Regards,

Gusman

We've had great fried food there several times. Thanks for the tip on the steamers!

....We stopped in there on Sunday on our way back from seeing friends in Portsmouth. My wife and I split a dinner portion of the whole-belly fried clams and my son had the lunch portion. Awesome as always! Wife and son then got the "kiddie" size cups of "I Scream for Cake", and Black Raspberry choc chip frozen yogurt. The description for "kiddie" says "one scoop", but it is the size of a softball...no lie. And it is sooooo good.

Another quick trip to Johnsons on rainy 4th weekend...

The place was packed! But surprisingly, there were a couple of seats at the bar in the Tavern.

Steamers again were outstanding ... brought my wife this time and she agreed. Perfect size.. sweet and no sand at all. We did try the fish chowder.. but it was Meh... not hot enough.. and while the haddock was great.. the potatoes were a bit mealy.. and the broth a bit bland.

On to the fried and broiled offerings!

Cheers...
