Does anyone have any recommendations for a local structural engineer? We need to have a wall / window issue inspected. Thank you!

Any carpenter/contractor worth his/her salt would know how to correct the issue...”engineer” sounds like overkill unless its a complex, commercial structure.

Didn’t think of that...you may be right! But if just for a residence I still think “overkill”
I Know in my town no engineer required...

If the reason for the inspection is going to lead to an insurance issue, then definitely use a licensed structural engineer; if it is going to lead to a legal issue, then DEFINITELY use a licensed structural engineer. You might have success finding a license structural engineer by asking your local Town Code Enforcement Officer, or your personal insurance agent. There is a big difference between a really good carpenter and a licensed structural engineer (namely, the certification initials after the name).

Again, pay a reputable, contractor/builder/carpenter to assess the issue.
Anyone that understands building can help you with this. If they can’t they’ll tell you what route to take.
