Antique clock repair

Does anyone know of or had a positive experience with a reputable person in the lakes region to repair/restore antique clocks? We have a grandfather clock and cuckoo clock that need repair. We would appreciate your suggestions.

After using someone local with mixed results, we have used TM Clocks in Plymouth with excellent results. He will, or at least he did, make house calls. Ted McCahan.

We have tried him three times, and he hasn’t returned calls. We think he might have retired, but thanks for the suggestion. The cuckoo clock came from him.

Tom Zimmerman repaired a clock for me, a mantel clock, and everything was fine. He did have to actually send (or deliver) it to an associate in Massachusetts because something inside was broken and he didn't have the equipment to make a new part. I visited with him one day and he said that he really is a cabinet maker, but got into clock repair because so many cabinets had clocks in them that also needed repair. He may be retired, he has had several birthdays! He is a page right out of Yankee Magazine, and his shop is unbelievable with gadgets and clamps.

Good luck. I hope he is still fixing clocks and cabinets, it is worth the time to visit him.

Tom is basically retired, but will consider fixing clocks for old customers. We are old so he will fix ours.
