Ahoy, I'm spending June in Andover on Highland Lake. I'm looking to buy sunfish in good shape (preferably less than 40 years old). Any leads would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Make sure the intended purchase is complete.
While parts are available at eBay, the wait could impinge on your vacation time. Be prepared to weigh any prospective Sunfish--they can become waterlogged.

Bring a bathroom scale with you, and weigh the Sunfish on its edge. Any Sunfish that weighs over 140 pounds is suspect. :eek2:

Had access to the company that bought all of the Alcort original equipment inventory. It was/is expensive, for sure, but there were plenty of takers at the time.

There are also 3 Lasers for sale on CL NH. APS knows sailboats way better than I do but we have a Laser, it is fast and relatively easy to rig/ run. https://nh.craigslist.org/boa/d/freedom-laser-standard/7124459146.html

We have one of those. Do you have a remedy or are its sailing days over?

Not at all. :)

The easiest remedy is to install a $15 "inspection port" between the daggerboard trunk and cockpit. Direct a small fan into the port.

If stored outdoors, cover the sun-exposed Sunfish with black plastic to help warm the interior.

A short length of 3- or 4-inch PVC pipe will assist the fan's drying process, which otherwise could take all winter.
