I've never purchased a towable water toy so I decided to read some product reviews on Amazon, it sounds like they all develop leaks pretty quick and at $150-$350 a pop its hard to justify.

Can anyone recommend a toy that will last more that a season or two or is this the standard now?

I am shopping for one that holds 3-4 people and another that holds 1-2.

I appreciate any recommendations.

Look at the Chariot Warbird line of towables. Well made and make for a safe and fun ride! I have had their three person one for quite a few years with no issues...

We've got a Big Mable we bought five years ago, and it's perfect. I'm not sure about the reviews you were reading, but if they aren't filled up to the right pressure they can submarine or fold, what might damage them.

If you want 1-3 (kids), Big Mable; 4+, Great Big Mable.

In your search you may wish to consider Sports and Marine Parafunalia in Gilford.

They have a good selection and reasonable prices.

You can call them, use their website or stop by for a catalog.

Hopefully their store can soon let folks in.

For now they are have a contact free set up going that works.
