"Eleven people in New Hampshire likely will die from COVID-19 on April 21, the peak day for such deaths in the state, according to projections released this week by a university-affiliated research center.

On that day, less than three weeks away, the state will be short 81 intensive care beds, according to the projections by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, an independent global health research center at the University of Washington. It also said that 131 invasive ventilators will be needed."

today LRGH announced layoffs of 600/half of staffing. first thought it's april fools day, given they will need over 600 additional staff in the next month. secondly, a ploy for picking the pockets of us/state/feds? no understanding for this decision. what does everyone thinks of this move....please...

Not layoffs furloughed. They get to keep their insurance. Hopefully the estimates are greater then what is required so we can all say I told you so

Well, LRGH is getting $5.25M, 0% interest loan. Since they're losing $1M a month, that should keep them going until they get acquired by someone (?) Kind of glad all my doctors are at Concord.

To not have a fully functioning hospital in one of NHs larger city’s is shameful. Yesterday, I was glad to see the governor mention it. It’s on someone’s radar let’s hope for the best

Keep their insurance of which each employee has to pay out of their pocket!
All LRGH facilities except the hospital will close by end of business Tuesday.
My wife’s practice will be closed 4-5 months if not permanently.
Good thing is she’ll make more collecting than working.

By furloughing them it allowed the hospital to receive the recovery funds. If they had a lay-off no funds available and would look bad for NH. Pay out of pocket? Her share? Most of us have to pay a portion out of pocket, please explain
