Beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing.
Would have been better without the docks. The docks took away the natural setting and write "Human Decay all over it. IMHO.

Every so often after reading someone's post I really wish there was a "NO Thanks" button instead of just a "Thanks" button.

Great picture. When I first saw the picture, the reflection of the dock lighting looked like flickering candles. It added an element IMHO.

I think a "Groan" button was discussed and dismissed here, quite a while back.
Be good to have a rating score, based on= Total posts + 100 times (Thanks - Groans)

Is this Dharma character trolling us? When I first saw the picture, I was immediately drawing to the dock. To my untrained eye, I thought it was beautiful.
I am sick of the self-loathing culture that is presently being taught to our children. Human decay? Are you kidding? I got in an argument with one of our associates at our firm. Very smart woman; however, she wants to eliminate the constitution. She says it was created by white men who owned slaves and therefore tainted and unworthy. I tried explaining to her that those white men, and their predecessors in Western Europe are the reason why we enjoy the liberties and freedoms that we presently benefit from. Like it or not our form of liberty was forged by concepts developed in Western Europe, not the Middle East, Asia, Africa. Certainly our founding fathers were flawed, but that doesn't negate the benefit of freedom all of us presently enjoy as we try to perfect it.
Lastly, I enjoy large, go-fast boats, and large docks used to keep them! I know, we've more than killed the go fast boat topic, but I couldn't resist!
Great picture thanks!
I don't read too much into the detracting point of view on the picture.
We each have our personal views and tastes.
Some are better at keeping their impulses in check.
I'll be happy to see a picture like that one daily.
Can that be arranged please?

Here we go again, taking another good thread down the political drain. I'll bet that's not what the OP had in mind when he posted that picture. :rolleye1:

I also post pictures of cats on the roof, cats in traps, and inflatable sharks! Anything for a smile or a laugh...anything else is out of my world!

Yes! He's/she's welcomed to his own way of life, but the imbalance to the presence of this forum surely isn't being misunderstood- by someone so enlightened.
I am sick of the self-loathing culture that is presently being taught to our children.
Our school system encourages students to question. This ideology, unfortunately or not, sometimes implies to students that the opposite of what has been reported is more true than what has been reported. The result can be that students want to use the more "rebellious" reasoning for the same purposes that having long sideburns, long hair or burning the flag were supported by youth.
Is it self-loathing? Good question!
Did you enjoy Indigenous Peoples Day?
Coming up- People who Killed Other People Day- November 11.
Well... at least today was national cat day!!! Too bad dogs.
Visitors ask why my cloisonné artwork of Loons has such strange reddish-bluish colors in the waters.
I get those colors from our Lake Winnipesaukee sunsets. When I get around to print the negative some day, this shot will be more intense in color.

I count nine whitish-yellow lights running along the dock in the original post, dock photo, and one on the shoreline, for a total of ten lights. These look like 110-volt powered lights due to their intensity and large size.
As seen from a neighbor's property across the water, or down the shore embankment, all this lighting is most likely not appreciated by the neighbors. It looks more like the Las Vegas strip at midnight than a dock on Lake Winnipesaukee. It is way too bright!
Also, it highlights the problematic use with placing 110-volt power on a dock with wires that may leak voltage into the nearby water, wires that can deteriorate over time and become a painful electric hazard for swimmers, both for people or for your pet Barney the basset hound who loves the water ....... arrrrroooooo ..... arf-arf ....... zap! zap! zap!

I liked the 1st photo as it was.
As for the toon boat; one solution that I use is Photoshop Elements. Easy to crop photos. Also easy to adjust lighting and color.

Those are standard 12v low voltage incandescent lights powered by a 110V transformer. Pretty standard setup.

It also has a very easy to use Clone Tool that can be used to "erase" parts of the picture and replace that with colors from a different part of the image.
