Nothing can express how SHOCKED I was last nite around 7:30p driving on Rte 11 parallel to the airport (just past the Citgo/Market) when out of the woods runs a Full grown Black Bear right in front of me, crosses Rte 11 and disappears into the thick brush. Besides damn near hitting him, I was awe struck!! That big boy could move !!

A deer you might expect ..... but a Bear??

Warning to all those pilots- a bear is on the loose and may cause you to abort landing

Warning to all those going to Penatonix’s Thursday night and wander into the woods instead of using the porta-potty (presuming he makes it safely across the runway safely :D:laugh:

Little known fact! A black bear can outrun a horse in a short sprint! Black bear season opens next Sunday and there are most likely baiters setting up baits for the opener, causing bears to roam more in search of the goodies.

Yup...definitely a pucker moment when a large animal runs out in front of your vehicle! Be thankful it wasn’t a moose...they kill!
