View Full Version : Debris in water
Having made a number of trip on the lake so far this season, I want to warn boaters that there is a lot more debris in the water than I remember. This is my 11th year on the lake and caution is the word of the day! I have seen trees, larger than my boat, floating on or just below the surface. While it happens every year, but it seems worse this year. Be careful!

Thanks for the report. Is his focused in any specific part of the lake? As always, we need a day or two of one direction wind combined with some draw down to strand the debris., Then we have some wonderful landowners who help clean it up. Thank you to them.
I have been around Rattlesnake and Sleeper Islands area on multiple trips

I have to agree that this is one of the worst springs I have seen in my now 34 years, on the lake. This weekend, my boys pulled out, several big branches, 3 or 4 sizable pieces of 4x4, and a submerged poly float. This worst part of all these things, is that they where just under the surface of the water...
If I had my boat in, we would have retrieved more, as we saw it floating by, but somethings we just couldn't reach off the dock.... '
Spring boating carries some inherit dangers, debris floating around is one of them. Stay diligent while boating this time of year.

also beware - I have spotted a couple of markers that are snapped off at or just above the water level and as is typical some missing or moved way off where they belong.
I'm sure the MP will be out there soon enough deploying the flashers and fixing what they can. Usually they have the flashers installed by Mom's day.
