I know this is not exactly lake related, but people have been so helpful over the years.

Starting a small business and looking for a payroll services company. I know the national players like ADP and Paychex, was wondering if anyone used a more local service provider. Would like to use local where I can

Thanks

Not local but I have seen many payroll services and as a professional I always recommend Paychex. Friendly, reliable, cost effective and easy to read reports and online access.

Trivantus is owned and operated out of Manchester NH but they are a fairly large operation. I've used them for years and they are decent.

We use ADP - nice and easy online portal to run payroll. Probably a bit expensive but the mom and pop shop we used for years made too many mistakes. This way we control the payroll run each period

In a previous life I left ADP and moved over to a Mom and Pop shop on the advice of a friend. Long story short, they never paid the taxes to the IRS and many of us had to repay missing payroll taxes. 11k mistake for me!!! Never again

My wife just retired from ADP after 27 years. I'd go with Paychex. They are much more appreciative of small business. ADP could care less about the small accounts.

I use Quickbooks, and highly recommend it. My ex sister-in-law was the CFO for a big dollar corporation, with just a couple dozen employees, and she also used QB.

I use Harper's Payroll Services. Although a few years ago they had some issues, we were never affected and nobody has been able to come close to their rates for us and we bid it our every 2-3 years.

We've been using HRC Total Solutions for many years and are very pleased with their service. They are located in Manchester. https://www.hrcts.com/
