Permits for dock bubbler

Ok, I have looked at DES and MP websites searching for the permit application for a bubbler on the dock...anyone have any clue?

Apparently you can go to your town clerk but I have never known any one personally who got a permit. We raise our dock so we don't use a bubbler.

I thought it said you go to the town clerk in your town. It's 50 cents.

Section 270:34

270:34 Registration Required. – Any person operating or hereinafter operating any such agitating or heating device which tends to inhibit the natural production of ice on public waters must obtain a registration to be designed and distributed by the department of safety, from the municipal clerk of the town in which such device shall be operated and said registration shall contain the name and address of owner and the location of said device. A permanent file of such registrations shall be kept by municipal clerks and a fee of $.50 per registration may be charged. Source. 1973, 321:1, eff. Nov. 1, 1973.

Not in Tuftonboro..called town clerk and was told they don’t carry them..that I had to go to the MP or DES... no matter, I found it on Laconia’s web site..pain in the ass for .50 cents

Interesting. Probably why I never heard of anybody getting one. Typical. They tell you you need to get a permit and then it is an act of God to get it. Why do you bother if it 's that hard?

I got the application, and registered at the Moultonborough Town Hall.

Renewals do not require a new application if there are no changes.

The best reason to register is to comply with the law. You will certainly be sued if there is an incident at your dock. Why not comply with the law for $.50 per circulator to avoid another potential legal issue?

Agree totally with what Cobalt said. For 50 cents and a 5 minute stop at the Alton Town Clerk we're all set. The Town Clerk told me years ago "It should/would save you legal hassles if there is ever a problem at your dock"
