This might be really weird, but I'm from Canada, and I visit relatives in NH every summer...I'm just wondering if the summer home in the movie 'What About Bob?' is really on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire and if its possible to either get to it by road or if you can see it from a boat if you're out on the lake. I guess someone probably lives there or whatever...but I'm just really interested in seeing it cuz that's one of my favourite movies of all time :p I don't plan on breaking into that house or anything, don't worry :p haha I'm just wondering...anyone know anything about that? Thanks

"What About Bob?" was not filmed on Lake Winnipesaukee. If you watch the movie until the credits I think it says it was filmed either in North or South Carolina.

"On Golden Pond" was filmed on neighboring Squam Lake and the part where Billy (the young kid) takes the boat out by himself was filmed on Winnipesaukee.

Sorry to disappoint you. But check out "On Golden Pond". Besides being filmed up here, its a great movie.

The cottage used in the movie is on Smith Mountain Lake. The house is still there. The address is 8254 Scruggs Road, Moneta, VA. For the final scene of the movie, they built 3/4 scale model of the house on a neighboring lot and blew up the model.

How about the "What about Bob cottage" is, contrary to lesser opinions, located over by Winnipesaukee Buoy Three, down at the end of Meredith Neck. It's just like in the movie, same color with fresh paint and next door to a large glass contemporary that has a strong resemblance to a modern contempo Lutheran Church. Stop on by, Dearie, and we can have a cup of Earl Grey tea while the wakes from all the 'go fast' boats roll in and over the dock. Perhaps, if there's a wind, I could be talked into hoisting the sails on the 'what about Bob' saiing dinghy? Corn Flake!....oops.....I mean....cheerio!
