View Full Version : Last Post Button Problem
Speaking of things that don't work, the last two days, my button beside the last post of a person (in this case fll) does not take me to the last post. I need to scroll down through the whole thread. Is this happening to anybody else?

Yes, the "last post button" does not work on my older iPad.

Mine is working but you need to give us a minute or two and it does scroll down. Happened to me this morning.

Only reason I had seen it was I was doing something else after I hit the button. [emoji23]. I tend to be very impatient.

Joey, I tried it and it still isn't working for me.

Ugh. I would ask the webmaster for his opinion.

I think I will. I have never had any trouble with it before and have always used it. I just restarted my computer but nothing. Thanks.

The Last Post button is working fine for me and I haven't changed anything in the forum software in a long time. To jump down to a post deep in a thread the entire thread does have to load so there can be a delay while that happens.
It works fine for me on my PC, but on my Android tablet, the page never seems to complete its loading, so it never seems to jump to the last post.
Perhaps this is a browser based issue? It also may depend on which version of the browser that each person is using?

Could be an android issue? Works on my google chrome, I phone and I pad

I've been noticing that New Posts (sometimes) takes me back into previously read posts in the thread whereas it used to take me to the first unread item when I opened the discussion for that item. More problematic lately is that hitting the back arrow from an item in New Posts sometimes takes me back to the New Posts category but more frequently back to the General Forum page. I've rebooted my system several times, but it still happens.
I browse the forum using my Mac laptop. Anyone else seeing this behavior?
Interesting. I have a Mac. I will have to see if it is working on my iPad. It used to work great for me but even if I wait, I still go to the first post in the thread not the last.
Well, I have since tried it on my iPad and I phone and both do the same thing. It might show the first 3 or 4 posts but won't go to the bottom post as it has always done.

I have had the same problem on my ipad for the past few days. The button does work here on my Dell laptop. It is a pain to have to scroll all the way through some of the very long threads to find the latest post. I tend to read the forum on my ipad so I hope that there is some kind of fix for this.
Buffalo Gal, how spoiled we are, right? But when that last post button worked so nicely, who wants to scroll through a long thread, right?? Glad i am not the only one it isn't working for.

I just used the last post button in this thread and it took @20 seconds to go there.
I've never used it before so I don't know if 20 sec's is normal for my android OS or not.

I have noticed just recently that the page never seems to fully load at least according my load bar on my iPad. It’s only an issue on this site and just recently started....

Same thing here. Last post icon very slow. I noticed happening abut 2 weeks ago.

Thank you all. I was hoping it wasn't just me having the problem.
I'm now on my tablet, it's doing it again.
The whole thread loads, but the spinner on the loading bar is still spinning, so something isn't loading completely.
Yet on my PC it works as it should.

Same issue here too. Spinning wheel and load bar stalled.
My load bar stalls too! Stops, actually.

On my laptop the last post works but it is very slow to load. Much slower than it used to be.

Agreed, much slower than it used to be. Almost painful to use as you can scroll down through the entire message chain faster than the site finds the last post itself.
In Firefox, one of things that I see at the bottom of the browser window during this delayed response is waiting for a TLS handshake with feedjit.com

It no longer works on my MacBook Pro or my iPad. Also doesn't work on my iPhone but I hadn't accessed the forum using my phone previously.
Bob M. it doesn't work at all, even slowly? Mine does not work even slowly on my Mac or iPhone or iPad. It stops. I ask because it sounds like it might work for some if you wait.

Seems back to normal. Thank you.
Fixed here also on my Android tablet! The site is much more responsive now.

Yes, our hero!!! Thanks for the tip, DPat. And thanks for fixing it, Don. It is so much nicer to have it working!!!!!
I think it affected the whole forum. Everything is just flying on here. Now that I think of it, I thought it had slowed down. So nice to have everything move so fast!!!!

I'm familiar with the "view first unread" button. Is this different from the "last post" button?
The view first button doesn't always seem to work for me.
Still learning the forum.
