I saw this also in the news ..... but wondered .......... why would they have a "Go Pro" ( or similar) filming their day?

For the Record:
I DO NOT doubt or believe this was a staged event .... just quite curious that they would be recording continuously. Then again, I don't fish either :rolleye1:

I use a GoPro when I am fishing and remotely turn it on when a fish is hooked. I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten to turn it back off and recorded an hour or more of mundane footage! This may be what happened in this instance or they simply wanted to record the days events...

One report said the guys excuse was that he couldn't see over the "dash". He could have easily killed all three. Put him in prison, or at least never boat again.

I have a dashcam in my car that is running as soon as I turn the car on.
If I'm in an accident, would it be that I staged it?

Seriously though, I think they just wanted to have the camera on in case they hooked onto a trophy fish & be able to show how they caught it. Today everything is being caught on video whether you want it to or not. :D

I saw that on another forum I frequent. If that is not staged, it is scary as heck and a great reaction by all on board.

I just reread all the posts and I did not see where anyone said it was staged...

Since I don't see a multi-quote reply, I will explain my post. I simply mentioned staged because it was mentioned previously in the thread. Maybe I should have bolded the last thought, that it was scary as heck and a great reaction. That was the point of my post, and clearly I will think much more carefully about how I reply in the future.
