View Full Version : Searay Gathering
Ok, how come nobody told me about the Searay Gathering on Saturday at Beaver Island. Was it invitation only? How can I get one of those Blue Searay flags so I can fly it proudly?

We got the flag, but weren't able to make it to the rendezvous :( Irwin's puts it on each year. I don't think anything is mailed out. Far as I know, if you have a Sea Ray, you're invited.
They had a ton of flyers and posters at the Laconia location.

Are you guys aware that your wakes interact to become gigundo as the fleet approaches the Bear Island no wake zone?
One series actually buried the bow of my 26 ft cruiser as she sat at the dock; I'm afraid that one of these years someone is going to get injured by this effect!

I wish I'd seen it, always have thought S-R's were beautiful with nice lines to them. I do wish, however, that someone somewhere would coordinate all of these things if at all possible -- there was a TeamDonzi poker run with the final card gathering at the Naswa, a Baja poker run with them all beginning at Channel, and now I know the explanation for all of the S-R's heading out of Paugus at what seemed to be the same time. OK, I'll admit I didn't check the calendar here and maybe all of it was posted, but no wonder water traffic thru the channel was such a mess Saturday morning and evening, my goodness!

Check with Alan L. at Irwins about getting a flag. He'll take care of you.

Silver Duck, you should have seen it in Paugus Bay approaching the no wake zone before Channel Marine. The boats along the shore were getting hammered.
The Marine Patrol was there & did stop a small Sea Ray, I believe because he was within 150' of the parade of Sea Rays but then all the Sea Rays in the parade were within 150' of the next boat in front & behind. I would be very surprised if there were not some complaints made to the Marine Patrol & Irwins & also complaints about Irwins since employees were participating in the parade & they were the organizers of the parade.

The Sea Ray that was stopped was ME! I wasn't withing 150' of anything. I had actually turned and given another boater that was within 50' of me in the eagle island/govenor's island channel a wave and open arms question about how close they were.
He then stopped us for a safety check since all the NEW BOAT stickers were still on the boat. I think he was more looking to see if I had my boater's cert were it was a new boat. (which I did)

No, your not the one I saw because what I saw was on the Paugus Bay side of the Channel just before the beginning of the no wake zone at Channel Marine. I don't know if this boat was stopped for a 150' violation but he definitely was well within 150' of the parade.
Check with Alan L. at Irwins about getting a flag. He'll take care of you.
Actually, I think it was because of Alan that I did not buy my Searay from Irwin. Any other ideas on how to get the much wanted flag.

send an email.... go to www.irwinemarine.com and ask them.
Or call Jason or Bill or anyone else there. Every business has a person that we would rather not deal with or has a bad day! Give it a shot. I am sure they will be helpful.
now that they all know I didn't buy my boat there, i will never get a flag from any of them. (kinda like if you don't buy your boat from us, we won't service it). Hoping Outlaw can pull a few strings.
