Hello all.
We live in Alton, and our 30 year old Furnace(propane)is probably due for replacing. According to Eastern Propane service tech who cleaned it yesterday, it’s rusting and replacement parts are no longer available. Good news is that it’s working fine, and we have a great woodstove and electric baseboard heat also. The house is roughly 1500 sq feet. Long story short, we want to look into replacing in the spring. Or at least get a second opinion. Any HVAC specialists in the area you recommend?

If it's not an emergency, which it sounds like it is not, I would wait until late winter when the temps get above freezing most of the time. This is a busy time for most of these people.

Me too apparently,. Not sure I'd wait until spring as the AC installs start, my experience getting any HVAC service when things start warming up isn't good.

Does anybody know of a Mr. Slim Mitsubishi shop in the lake area?

I have used them for several units and they do a good job. In recent years the prices are a little higher than they were 10 years or so ago but the units are even more efficient.

www.christianrepair.com from Tilton are totally super-duper, click on SERVICES, and work on propane and natural gas (Laconia) and apparently have stopped working with heating oil and kerosene.

For forever reliability, the Rinnai direct vent, hot air space heaters seem to just go for years and years without needing any service and create very comfy warm breathable hot air.

If you have a hot water, oil fuel central heat system with radiators or baseboards in a big house, installing a Rinnai propane direct vent on the first floor in an open space like a living room, den, kitchen or dining room works good to compliment the central main system since it heats up fast and really feels good. Will soon become the most popular winter spot in the house.

Laconia Refrigeration installed one for me several years ago. Excellent price and never an issue.

I recently replaced my propane system and switched my propane supplier at the same time. In doing so we got a very competitive bid from the new supplier, who happened to be Eastern.
