Even if you're not a boater you know how much the wind direction and speed can effect your enjoyment of the lake. If you're a boater the wind can have a big effect on your plans.

I just discovered this site (http://www.sailflow.com/) that provides lots of tools and data about the wind. It's intended for sailors but should be helpful for everyone. I've added it to the Local Weather (https://www.winnipesaukee.com/index.php?pageid=localweather) page.

<iframe align="top" name="wind-map" id="wind-map" src="https://widgets.sailflow.com/widgets/web/windMap?w=600&h=450&c=0A2946&rp=18&m_m=t&csn=Lake Winnipesaukee&search=43.5718,-71.4253&sn=Laconia&sid=799&u_t=F&act=Sail&m_c=43.59,-71.35&m_z=10&app=sailflow" width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="no"></iframe>

I'll mention that the Android MyRadar app has a wind layer that looks very much like this.

I use this app constantly when boating, but also find it useful for most any outdoor activity.

The wind layer shows wind direction and intensity. You have to turn the wind layer on yourself, it's off by default.

I think they also have an apple version too.

Thanks! Looks like it will be very helpful--the wind data in standard apps is not nearly detailed enough to be helpful for sailing
