Question for webmaster Don: How is the date listed for joining this very informative Web site determined?

I have been viewing and contributing messages to this forum for several years before the 2004 date shown for Barney Bear. [For example, I remember the Parade of Boats after 9/11.]. 🐻

In 2004 I upgraded the forum to the current system and everyone had to re-register. The old system is still available in a read-only mode. You can search 56,000 archived messages on the old system at:
