Just purchased a new boat (new to me), and the bow and mooring covers appear to be leaking water a little. Haven't opened the bimini yet, but it appears to be in great condition.

Stats:
Condition: Good
Age: 2001
Color: Green

What type product can I apply to treat and remedy the problem.

Thanks !

I used "Never Wet" from Rustoleum last season and if you follow the directions, it works really good on canvas. It is a bit pricey, but does work.

Got to make sure the canvas is dry and clean and if you can apply in the garage or other calm area, it helps. I took two step ladders and a couple of 2x4's between them and spread my cockpit canvas over them. Took about 2 hours start to finish - I did 2 coats and it has to dry between coats.

Also use it to waterproof shoes, jackets, etc. - stuff works great!

Boat canvas is not waterproof. It needs to breathe. You can expect some water during heavy rain. I've found that a combination of 303 Fabric Cleaner and 303 Fabric Protectorant works best to keep your canvas in good condition and minimizes any leaking through the fabric.

I've used 303 Fabric Protectant for may years on our boat canvas, and more recently on our car's convertible top. Works very well - water beads right up - and lasts for a long time. once to twice a season is all you'll need.
