According to some of the "earth" savers group in a local Maine News papers it stated that; " Essentially, this plan lays the foundation for a vacation home development similar to that near New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee .."

Moosehead is basically undeveloped as the paper companies had owned it for years. The land is sold to developers and it is a big cash cow. The surrounding communities have to look at other lakes and see what need to be done to protect the natural beauty. Otherwise the developers will run amock. Most of them don't live there and they care less what their project do to the landscape. They just want their money. :(
