From my place on Welch we are watching just brutal lightning strikes to the west northwest. Looks like maybe Meredith and Center Harbor and points more north are getting hammered. While it's pretty to watch I hope anyone in that area is safe and sound. Haven't seen lightning like that in a while!

Yup just went through here (south of Bristol) I can still see the light show walloping Meredith and New Hampton from my porch on a hill!
Our power glitched on one big hit but that was all...

Technology is so strange. I read this, now I sit outside Boston watching the lighting across Winnisquam from my camera.
I hope all are safe.

I'm south of Pot island, it's so bright I can see my dock lit up. Still have power at the moment.

We are staying on six mile and got pounded! Power is out. Sounds like round 2 is coming....
I was outside in the pouring rain taking steak off the grill when it hit right above me. I think I peed a little....

I read someplace that i's always sunny on Welch. Looking at the other posts, that seems to be true. Of course, I face south, so yes, it's always sunny on Welch.
Nevertheless, thanks for the lightning update.

No problems on Mark...lost power for a split second and that was it. I peed a little too though, but I think that was from wine, which I like to refer to as " project fuel". On stormy nights, I like to stay away from the grill and work on the house. Oh ...wait...that's every night. Nevermind...

Still no power here. Our phones are dead, running with an iPad only. We may head over for a battery charge and a shower if you are there.

On Gilligan's Island, the Professor generated electricity with coconuts and palm leaves...be resouceful, damn it! I commuted to work when the rain stopped, but K is there. I'll give her a heads up. Be careful though..she may put you to work!😉

After utilizing an abacus, handheld calculator, and googling the difference in time, it appears you were out of power for twelve (12) hours. 😉😎 (how often does that happen? )

This is where the worst of that particular storm cell went Dan.My friends outdoor bar at the Woodstock Station had lots of hail to "shovel" after that one.

Just went out on six mile again. I assume we feed from bear? We got it back earlier about the same time you did.

Wow! That's unbelievable! We got hit on Welch a little but not nearly as bad as the towns north and west of us.

codeman671- - The feed to Six Mile Island comes off a pole behind the red cottage south of the cottage called Rockwood on East Bear Island. The cable continues underground to the shore and then underwater to the southwest end of Six Mile. A smaller cable comes off this cable and heads south to feed Far Ozone Island. 🐻
