Milfoil?

Can anyone tell me if the plant in the photo is milfoil? (It looks to me like images on the internet, but I'm terrible at this sort of thing.) I snagged it with my foot just a few yards from my dock.

If answer is yes, any recommendations on a person to help remove it properly would be appreciated.

Yup,Pull it up and dispose of it.

They tell you not to remove it yourself as it will cause more to grow if you don't get it all. If you are in Moultonborough, Tuftonboro or Wolfeboro I would call the town hall and they will give you advice on who to call. They all have milfoil committees and such. I don't know about the other side of the lake but imagine they must have the same.

Thanks, I understand it's best not to remove it myself. I sent a message to the Tuftonboro Milfoil Committee and will survey my neighbors.
