View Full Version : Thank You Marine Patrol

We arrived at the house last week to find that a large piece of earth had floated in and lodged itself onto our dock stairs. It was oval shaped...maybe 5 feet long and 3 feet wide, and had tall grass growing out of it. It sorta looked like Don King's hair.....
Anyway, I figured that since it was in the water, the first call should be to Marine Patrol, as it was too large to try and do anything with myself. The dispatcher promptly sent an officer over, whom my wife and daughter nicknamed "Officer Studmuffin", noting that he made the uniform look very good. As it was late in the day, Officer Studmuffin said that it was too large to deal with himself, and he would have to come back the next day with some more muscle.
We had to be up and out early the next morning on some errands, but when we got back, Don King's hair was gone. The MP took care of us as promised. Even more, later in the day, I got a phone call from the MP dispatcher just following up to make sure we were satisfied. A big thank you to the MP. They are a dedicated organization! Some pics below:

Hysterical and very accurate description of that land mass resembling Don King's hair! And I'm sure the entire MP knows who Officer Studmuffin
is. Lol. Have a great summer! Stay safe!:)

That thing had to have weighed a ton. I would not have thought to call MP about it though.

We have a sixteen foot twelve inch log that was floating in front of our house on Rattlesnake, I secured it to a tree so no one would hit it. I called MP and they said they would only come if it was 150 feet off shore but he would ask his Captain about it. Still waiting, that was a week ago.

You couldn't get a clearer picture of Officer Studmuffin?

To bad you couldn't move it over a tad, It would have made a great corner plant next to the stairs and the 1st post. And you'd never have to water it.

I guess officer stud muffin didn't do a good job after all. The same chunk was spotted today floating around Meredith bay. It's posted in facebook.

I think it's Wilson from the movie Cast Away. He's grown a bit.

How did you identify that it was the same "chunk"?

I always thought of "square grouper" as a South Florida boating issue.
