:laugh: Yes Thinkxingu we had one to many white knuckle days in the 20' pontoon crossing the broads and leaving the Weirs channel !! So we opted to upgrade. Plus do you know how long it takes to cover ground on the lake at 25MPH?:laugh:

At 45 MPH, you'll get where you're going in half the time, but miss most of the views. 😉 Love cruising at around 23-25, but to each their own. Good luck. 👍

I agree with you that you see more...but...it's nice to be ABLE to get "there" now. My little tin fishing boat cruises great around 25. But, if spanked, she'll do 40. Thats a nice thing to have in your back pocket.
-or-
Get a 24'+ tritoon & 150+ horses and do both on a patio :)

I'm not looking to bomb around the lake @ 50MPH. I have every intention of taking our normal slow cruises at sunset and when the lake gets rough we will have more shelter from the elements. That's is why we didn't just go to a bigger pontoon.

I guess there's nowhere to hide on a patio in the broads. Good luck with the Crownline.
But, you know, at this pace you'll likely be getting a new boat next year :) I'm gonna guess it will be a bigger Crownline. Or one with more hp. Welcome to boat ownership, i.e. the persistent search for the next craft?

:D:D I'm hopping this one makes at least a full calendar year (unlike the 'Toon") or the next one will have to be my permanent residence. Because next time I talk new boat the wife is kicking me to the curb!

When I said to my lovely wife of (lots of years) that I missed the water. She bought me a boat. I had mentioned how I loved the Chris Crafts and Garwoods in my earlier years. Have done all the crazy stuff, fast boats, Egg Harbor Sportfish. Then she told me we needed to find a cottage at a lake.
You can imagine the rest. I am ecstatic. Now I just cruise along lazily not caring how long anything takes. You see I have no place I have to be at any time.
Tell that to those who fly by me at 50-80-mph, it will still be there when you arrive.
Enjoy your new boat and remember there are more made every year.
I am a retired workaholic and continuing aquaholic.

my buddy has a crownline and he loves it. I do too, nice boat. captains call, (its got a little bark to it) nice little cutey cabin, classy little boat. easy in easy out how can you go wrong.
but i just half to say, he challenged me to a drag race, i have a 22' 1988 Supra Ski Boat W/a 454 inboard! the look on his face was when I blew his doors off worth the price of admission.

O by the way the Supra is going up For Sale this year! relay nice boat!
new custom interior, good in big water, turns on a dime, good all around Boat. for some unknown reason if a girl boards the supra her pants fall off?
i don't want to get rid of her but you can only own so-many boats.

Crownline owners enjoy their boats enough to organize get-to-gethers:

Love Our CrownLine. It's an 2006 260.
Its the fastest boat we have ever owned. With minimal fuel, just me on it, and flat/calm water, I've had it to 50MPH (GPS). Plus, it is very nimble.
We had it in Boston Harbor for a little while. It was alot of fun out there!
