Looking forward to it. I enjoyed watching the previous seasons so I think this one will be better as I should be able to recognize many areas.
I am too. The only problem I have with those channels is it is so hard to figure out when a particular program is going to be on. So I hope if anybody knows, they remind us. I have done a schedule check before, but you have to have some idea of when to look.

So this is supposed to run on Animal Planet, there is no broadcast schedule for this anywhere on their web page yet. Wild guess this may being airing in the spring/summer?

Does anyone know if they filmed on the lake with Marine Patrol for any episodes? Late this past summer I happened to catch a glance of one of the MP boats near Christmas Island with 3 or 4 men on board and I am certain one of them had a large camera...
I loved the previous episodes shot in Maine. I can't wait for the NH episodes!

The old ones were on Sunday night I believe. If you have a DVR player once you find it, you can just set it up to do a series recording and it tapes all the new ones for you hassle free.

They pulled plenty of boats and snowmobilers over in Maine so I assume the same will be true with the NH show.

That was probably the "Behind the Badge" series NH1 did on NHSP. I think the second episode was about Marine Patrol bureau.

"North Woods Law’ reality show leaves Maine for New Hampshire
The Maine version of the show stirred controversy after a Portland Press Herald report suggested the show's television cameras influenced the warden service's response to a poaching sting.
Within the article
Gov. Paul LePage said he played a role in ending the show, saying he didn’t think it gave the state a good image.

The State of Maine patrols it lakes and rivers differently than New Hampshire.
This new show for New Hampshire might not have anything to do with Marine Patrol and the Department of Safety.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department has a totally different mission.
Granted they can call upon each others resources when needed, but they are actually two different entities in New Hampshire. In Maine they fall under one greater umbrella (for lack of a better term) called the "Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife".
In New Hampshire you will "almost" never see Marine Patrol enforcing Fish and Game regulations unless called upon to assist and visa versa.

When is it going to be shown on Animal Planet?
From newhampshire.com / December 23 2016
http://www.newhampshire.com/article/20161223/NEWHAMPSHIRE01/161229648/0/NEWHAMPSHIRE0303
"The trailer teased viewers with a “coming soon” label for the new season, but the date of the debut has yet to be announced."
"Engel Entertainment approached New Hampshire Fish and Game in April 2015 to see if the agency had interest in participating in a potential series. The state and the production company worked out a deal and the Executive Council approved the contract in January. Filming in the Granite State began in May."
Just because they are filming does not necessarily mean you will ever see it soon. The production company has to sell it first to Animal Planet. Production and distribution are 2 different things. But my guess would be this fall. Most of these shows take about a year or so to get on the air after filming begins.
Any winter scenes are probably being filmed right about now.

Have your fishing license.
Have your atv registered.
Leave skunks and bears to the professionals.
If you are on the water, fluid or frozen, wear a freakin' PFD.
Yeah, I know, you don't want to " 'cus FREEDOM!", or you swim like a fish, or you think you're indestructible. Until you're in the water headed for the bottom...
...and causing a multi-day, multi-officer recovery effort just because you are an idiot.

Don't get nervous no plans to do this in New Hampshire, (yet) but have seen articles that the presence of rattlesnakes was how our "Winni Rattlesnake Island" got its name.

My home town of Glastonbury CT was supposedly thick with timber rattlers.

With reference to a very small, about one foot long, 'pet' alligator that was confiscated from two 20-somethings, a man and a woman, from their home in Jaffrey, NH: In the March 12 episode, a NH F&G officer said the F&G gets a lot of their not-allowed, exotic animal leads, including this small alligator, from Facebook, and social media postings where people like to share photos of their prohibited pets such as alligators and maybe bear cubs.
So, if you are thinking about keeping a camel out in the barn.....maybe you want to just stick with a donkey. Besides, I've heard that donkeys get scared by the smell of a camel.......like, what is this smell......n-n-n-n-neighhhhhhhh.......snoooorttttt ......(donkey here)? But, like who knows.....just maybe, unlike an alligator, a camel is welcome here in New Hampshire?

I talked with a F&G officer this summer, he said there should be some winter footage this time around however; the film crew apparently doesn't like the cold (probably some yuppie tree huggers from California) anyways, if you watched the Maine north woods law every time they filmed in the winter they mostly did it from the front seat of a vehicle, intersection or side of the road.

I happened to be at the Meredith docks admiring one of the new all aluminum MP patrol boats parked there - if you haven't seen one up close they are impressively made. Anyways another MP pulls up and ties up in front of the new one and we got to chatting. He said the NWL film crew had been out several days with MP so quite possible there will be footage of that in the up and coming episodes.
Interesting considering that the MP is part of the state police not the F&G.

Salmon fishing awhile back there was a MP boat in Meredith bay checking fishermen...I knew he'd get to me eventually so I made a wide turn so he could come alongside and when he did I started reeling my rods in and he said "no need, just keep moving and hold up your license"
When I held my license up for him to see I noticed there was a cameraman filming me in his boat...not sure if I'll make a show or be edited out but they were certainly out there filming!

That was pretty cool to see, but.... I was thinking to myself "should this be shown on TV?" I would never have known the best way to capture a loon had I not seen this on TV. Not that there are people trying to capture them, but still, some things are better left unsaid.

Capturing a loon by a nonprofessional would be very difficult. The biologists do this tagging every year. They do it to keep track of the loons and to study them. I watched Northwoods Law and i thought it was very acceptable to show it. I have been watching loons for over 60 years and I am so glad that The Loon Preservation Committee exists to save our loon population.
