Just thought I'd throw this out what with the demise of the Laconia Citizen and not having anything else relevant to say here at 5-am.

Just yesterday....it looks like the NH DOT removed all those skinny orange highway wands or skinny cones that get attached to the pavement at the intersection of Rt 25 and Pleasant St in Meredith across from the BarnZ.

If you think like me.....this neck of the woods has just two seasons all year around....there's the cone season.....and the no-cone season....which just got here yesterday. Something tells me these cones would not be doable in Massachusetts traffic, but here in Meredith they work good to keep it safe driving the busy, congested summer road. Cannot recall seeing even one fender bender, collision ..... all summer long this year, so's how about that!

Reading that post is a couple minutes of my life I'll never get back. You get up too early, you need to sleep more. :D:emb:

I was hoping you were talking about ice cream.

But yes, Heath's in Center Harbor has speed bumps in their parking lot during the summer but remove them for winter for plowing. I noticed they were gone last week.

They looked like orange cylinders to me, not cones. #shapematters

Well.....those skinny cones or wands at Pleasant and Rt-25 have been gone for about a month....and it was probably a safer intersection with the orange wands in place. Believe they get removed for snow removal access.

Look twice......and floor it.....zoom zoom zoom....missing the next on-coming vehicle by just inches as it accelerates .... budda-boom-thud!
