Hello!

New to the forum and new to the region! We are buying a house on Newfound Lake, and need recommendations on a fuel provider. We need Oil and Propane.

We have been considering Dead River or Rymes. The current owner uses Rymes. I've read some of the threads here, but some of the complaints I've read about Rymes seemed several years old, and there wasn't much about Dead River.

Any advice or thoughts?

Appreciate it!

For the past few years we get our oil and propane through Rymes as well as all of our servicing. We have nothing but good to say thus far. Others here have posted differently but for us they have been great and very responsive when we need them.

As for recommendation, I had pretty good luck with Brown out of Franklin.

I have been a customer of Rymes for about 12 years, and I have only good things to say about them. I am on the pre-buy Plan, and I have had very good service; I also have them clean/svc/tune up my sysyem each year. Last year I had a generator installed and Rymes is my propane provider and I have had no problems at all.

I find the service technicians very pleasant, and the office staff has always be responsive to my phone calls.

Oh, by the way, I am not related in any way to Rymes, I just think they do a great job.

That's TOO funny, that's EXACTLY what I was thinking as I read your post!

Thanks (everyone) for the information, we are SO excited to be moving to the area.

Check out "The Fuel Club" and "Our Town Consumers Choice".....regional buying groups that may save you some serious money on both oil and propane.

Find out how far the service technicians have to travel to get to your home.

All have their followers and distractors.

Price of propane varies upon usage. Just be careful when adding a propane company. They may drop off an old rusty tank. Some propane companies freshly paint the tank for new customers but you do have to ask.

Be careful when the propane company drops off a tank. They may drive over hidden pipes in ground.

I dumped Rymes for pricing matters. The old 500 gallon tank sat in the front yard for 9 months before they picked it up.

We've been pleased with the Our Town Energy Alliance buying group. It's saved us a fair bit of money over the years. For the past two years we've gotten our oil from Eastern Propane & Oil and have been very satisfied with their service.
