Have any of you boated into Melvin Village Marina lately? It is so shallow going in. Someone I know got his boat stuck there today and had to use an oar to move the boat. We store our boat there so I was just wondering????

I emailed Kevin the other day and he said we should be fine with our 'toon if we trim up and keep to the center of the markers. I'll also be making sure that everyone's up front to keep it as level as possible--at that point, we only draft a couple feet at most. We're bringing Boatie Two in Saturday and will report back.

The key at Melvin is definitely to stay in the middle of the markers...if you veer off to the sides it gets shallower very quickly... Through the summer the boat action tends to create a channel in the middle....

small boats and toons should still be all right, I wouldn't want to be bringing in any type of cuddy or cruiser....

Just went in and out of MVM, and it's shallow--depth read 2' and tons of outdrive gashes--but we had no problems trimmed up and weight balanced.
