When I looked at the DES website yesterday, it showed the lake is almost 14 inches below full lake. If you know how deep it is at full lake, I hope this will help.

I have not been in the canal in a few years but planned on going in to visit a buddy this weekend. My boat draws 32'' with the drive up just not sure if there is enough water. I'll check with him before I go.

It's very low. Had to push my boat off the clay bank today. First time for that. And I know there is a rock in the middle ready to battle me.

If I'm reading it correctly, the canal doesn't show on Bizer's chart since it is covered by an inset. It shows pretty clearly on a satellite overhead. I rarely get to that area of the lake, so I've never visited the canal.

How long is it? Hard to tell from the satellite, but many docks and boats can be seen.

In "normal" times, how deep is it?
Was it dredged in the 70's when Balmoral was developed?

At least one rock was mentioned above. Are hazards marked or is this bleach bottle territory?

Clay bank mentioned above. Is the area mostly clay, sand ? Steep sides? The docks all look to be parallel to shore, so I gather the water is OK close to shore, right?

I also looked at a 1962 Public Utilities chart. Nothing shows, although there is no inset to obscure anything.

If I'm reading it correctly, the canal doesn't show on Bizer's chart since it is covered by an inset. ... I've never heard it called the Balmoral Canal, but I believe it is depicted on Bizer's chart about one-and-one-quarter inches to the right of Lees Mills, just to the left of Paradise Rd.

Unfortunately, I can not add any information as to the depth of the canal.

Looks like the official name is Middle Brook Canal.

wonder if that will need to be dreged again in the future
we looked at property in june the dock had 4 ft of water
not the case now

After reading the document supplied by winni83, if the canal were dredged to 5.5 feet, and if the datum is "full lake", then the depth should be four feet today.
