Power Outage

Yesterday morning (Sunday), we lost power on East Bear Island at 4:35 AM. We contacted NHEC at about 6:00 AM and were advised that they were aware of the situation, and gave us a brief explanation of the problem. Power was restored by 8:45 AM. We are pleased with this prompt action by NHEC. 🐻

That is excellent service and as an islander I appreciate knowing they're on the job. I saw their steel boat with the drop bow go by and thought it odd they were out on a Sunday morning. Now I know.

Saw them at Sheps Sunday morning getting ready to pull out. Told them thanks for turning the lights back on. Those guys are great.

We have NHEC at home in West Alton, wish we had it here on Welch. I do like the NHEC outage reporting system and call back when power is restored. BTW if you still have internet during the outage, say by your phone hotspot, the NHEC facebook page often has current outage info.
